When do you have meetings?

Boy Scout Troop 815 meets on Monday evenings from 7:00 PM to about 8:30 PM.

Where do you have meetings?

Our meetings are held at Charlotte Wood Middle School in Danville, CA.

What if my son is on a sports team?

Your son can still be a Boy Scout, even though he's on a sports team. When he joins our troop he doesn't have to give up other activities. We try to take school and sports schedules into account when we plan our schedule. We know that conflicts will occasionally come up, but your son will have the choice. He won't be barred from activities because he missed a few meetings, or because he can't be there for the whole day.

What if I want to make sure my son gets what you promise?

That's one of the best parts. Scouting is designed so that the boys in the troop decide on the program. If he's not doing the things he wants to do in Scouting, he has a voice in those decisions. Even better, the people who make sure he gets everything Scouting offers are parents just like you, and there's nothing that says you can't join right along with your son.

What if I just don't have the time to be a volunteer?

Ultimately, it's up to you to decide how much time you can devote to the troop. There are a lot of things parents can do to help without registering as a Scoutmaster or committee member. We can always use transportation to and from our activities, people to counsel merit badge subjects, and people to take on special projects from time to time. Typically, a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster devotes about 3 hours a week to the troop. Committee members usually devote about 4 to 6 hours a month to the troop. If you provide transportation or take on a special project, you'll devote about 2 hours a month. Remember though, your son will benefit from every minute you spend helping him, or the troop.
